PHASE 1: The Dine-Around Experience

Millcreek City Lifestyle is hosting Sip & Savor, a free 6-week dine-around experience starting September 1st. Rouser is proud to take part in the experience highlighting the best of Utah’s culinary scene.  The dine-around is an autonomous experience, meant to be enjoyed at your own pace. The restaurants have specific menu items as part of the dine-around. You will have a chance to submit nominations for the dishes and establishments you favored the most.  

Rouser is highlighting one of our unique signature dishes:

NIMAN RANCH PORK PORTER HOUSE

This is a bold center of the plate pork dish showcasing a 16 oz Niman Ranch pork porterhouse, a cut that’s innovative for our market here in Salt Lake City and something you won’t see on many other menus locally. It stands with the quality you’d expect from a fine dining steakhouse but with our Rouser twist.

Niman Ranch pork is raised humanely and sustainably by a network of small, independent US family farms. The pigs never receive antibiotics or added hormones and are raised outdoors or on deeply bedded pens, which gives the pork a richer flavor and tender texture. High end restaurants choose Niman Ranch for their consistency and quality 

The porterhouse is brined for 4 to 6 hours then fully air dried, which locks in moisture and flavor. Cooking time in the Josper is about 15 to 20 minutes. Chef recommends medium to medium well for the perfect balance of tenderness and taste. While we trim carefully, guests should be advised to check for small bones 

The dish is finished with a classic apple mostarda, sweet and tart, and a rich apple glace, highlighting the timeless pairing of pork and apple. We serve fried quinoa for crisp texture and nutty contrast. The combination of juicy pork, bright fruit flavors and crispy quinoa makes this a memorable and elevated center of the plate, and a great opportunity to suggest any of our sides.

THE MAIN EVENT : The Sip & Savor Grand Finale at Log Haven - October 11th - 12pm

The entire dine-around experience leads up to an afternoon of culinary excellence. Top chefs, local beverage purveyors, and passionate food lovers will gather at the historic Log Haven nestled in Millcreek Canyon for the official Sip & Savor Festival for a festive outdoor experience.

The festival is a ticketed event to celebrate the support for the community. Restaurants will be awarded based on your nominations.
